Up early in the Kotjan's suite, I zipped over to the bridal party suite to be there as soon as anyone woke up. The east coaster, Brea, was up, and a few others soon after. Sarah had provided Sprinkles cupcakes for breaky (supplemented with healthier things from her mom) and Nichole took Starbucks orders for everyone. Thankfully, the wedding wasn't until 4pm and we were getting to the venue at 2pm so it was a chill morning schedule. The hair people arrived at 8:30am to begin with the bridesmaids and the videographer and photographer arrived at ten. Sarah had graciously hired two stylists to do all of our hair and the moms, so that was fabulous. Sky was available for makeup and we basically munched and chatted the morning away.
All of a sudden, seriously out of nowhere, it was 1:55pm and much to be done still! We flurried around and arrived at Stonebridge fashionably late where we donned our dresses, watched Sarah and Nate hold hands around the brick corner without seeing eachother, and watched the arriving guests from a lovely vantage point, a window seat in the girl's suite.
The ceremony was lovely, Sarah was STUNNING, and Nate looked as good as he's ever looked with such a look of love and anticipation on his face when he saw her. So perfect.
The reception tent was decorated beautifully, and we had a lot of fun with the Black Creek tradition of communally singing a song about the bride and groom to the tune of a well known song so that everyone could sing along. This wedding I wrote the song to "Home Home on the Range" re-titled "Nate, Nate the Great." The guests were very enthusiastic so it went well. Many love songs were sung, dancing was fun, and beautiful people all around.
It was such a blessing to be with so many family members celebrating such an awesome gift that God blessed Nate and Sarah with, eachother. I love my brother dearly and I knew from the moment I met Sarah that I loved her and that we could be good friends. Such a gift to belong to a family where all my siblings love Jesus and have married Jesus-loving spouses. It is truly the grace and love of God that is so evident on us all and for which I'm so thankful...how fitting to be on Thanksgiving.
(Being in the bridal party, I didn't take any pictures but the ones below are from my sister-in-law April)
